In the ancient language, its name means “island of clouds” and it is the largest in the Grenadines: compulsory destination for customs' practices for each cruise on rented catamarans in the Antilles and Grenadines.

Fishing is practiced, after the less profitable cultivations of sugarcane and tobacco were abandoned. It is still possible in these waters to hunt whales, even if remarkably limited in order to protect the integrity of the species: natives are proud of this ability that is applied not only to the actual hunting, but also in the construction and repair of boats, true jewels of maritime art.

In the port, it is possible to stock up water for your rented catamaran, by calling a lighter that will arrive in a few minutes: Daffodil’s Marine on channels 68 and 69, or by calling 4583369 or 4583942.

Bequia's beaches are universally famous for the golden colour of the sand that also shines through the waters. The Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary must absolutely be visited: a destination that cannot be missed during cruises in the Antilles and Grenadines, on catamarans and sailing boats.
