Soufriere Bay Print

It is the second city of the island and was founded by the French in 1746 at the bottom of the homonymous bay.

The famous Pitons, the two twin-volcanos, seem to stand to protect what is today, after the ancient splendour which is testified by some richly decorated houses, a simple but suggestive fishermen’s village which gets lively with the arrival of the catamarans cruising in the Caribbean and towards the Grenadines.

The territory is of volcanic nature and the big bay facilitates mooring and stocking up, in the small but well supplied stores.

There are also small typical restaurants on the hills, from which it is possible to enjoy a marvellous view of the two Pitons.

From the city, it is possible to do excursions in taxi at Sulphurous springs and to the Botanical Garden.
